Economical & Efficient Material Transport

Towline Conveyors

Heavy-duty, low-maintenance systems built to move your operation forward.

IMH Systems designs, installs, and supports industry-proven towline conveyors for manufacturing, warehousing, and assembly environments. Whether you’re transporting carts through an assembly line or streamlining workflow across your facility floor, our in-floor towline systems deliver smooth, unattended, high-capacity movement with minimal maintenance and long-term reliability.

What Makes Towline Conveyors Unique?

  • In-floor design keeps floor space clear for workers and equipment
  • Moves up to 30,000 lbs. parts—heavier loads available with custom options
  • Supports accumulation, indexing, live storage, and auto dispatching
  • Compatible with roller beds, turntables, tilt tops, and custom racks
  • Smooth turns and stop/start operation without interrupting chain movement

Towveyor® and Shallo-Tow™ Systems

Towveyor® systems are built for medium to heavy-duty applications. Using a rugged Microloy® rivetless chain and welded steel tracks, they allow individual carts to stop or divert without halting the full system. Ideal for complex layouts and high-cycle operations.

Shallo-Tow™ systems offer a lower-profile track (~3” depth), making them ideal for facilities with limited pit depth or installation constraints. These lighter-duty conveyors use a simplified chain design that slides on lubricated wear bars and installs quickly with self-anchoring tracks.

  • Modular track designs for easy cleaning, inspection, and maintenance
  • Powered or non-powered spurs for sorting and accumulation
  • Heat-treated chain components reduce maintenance and increase uptime
  • No escort chains needed for directional changes—smooth roller turns handle it all

Key Benefits

  • Cost-effective operation: Low energy use, no batteries, no fumes, and minimal wear
  • Cleaner facility: No fluid leaks or emissions common with AGVs or forklifts
  • Traffic control: Dedicated path reduces aisle congestion and product damage
  • Productivity gains: Continuous, paced flow minimizes manual handling
  • Live storage: Circulating tow carts allow for buffering during peak periods
  • Quick install: Minimal concrete work required—ideal for new or retrofit facilities

Applications

Towline conveyors are a proven solution for a variety of high-volume environments:

  • Order Picking & Sorting
  • Automatic Loading & Unloading
  • Storage & Retrieval
  • Assembly Lines & Finishing Systems
  • Heavy Parts and Component Transport
